A new study found that couples who listen to music together have more sex. Sponsored by Sonos, a wireless speaker company, and Apple Music, a monthly music subscription service like like Spotify, Tidal and Pandora that lets you try out an incredible library of new music, the study was called Music Makes it Home. In addition to their “more music means more sex” discovery, the study found that families who listened to music in the house talked with each other more. They became closer and finally put down their Phones and Ipads, and had real conversations for once, instead of communicating through text messages with emojis.
Music changes people’s brains. When we listen to music, dopamine is released into our brains and we feel happy. Dopamine is released into the part of the brain called the nucleus accumbens and the straitum. It’s called the “pleasure system” of the brain and is the same part that responds to porn, cocaine, and food.
The study surveyed 30,000 people and found that 67% of couples said they had more sex when listening to music “out loud,” as opposed to listening to it alone with headphones. Listening to music in the house with someone you love can lead to singing out loud, dancing, and doing karaoke before doing it.
