It’s been a busy few days for Bill Cosby rape accusation fallout stories. The New York Post ran an “exclusive” that claims “Camille Cosby still doesn’t believe Bill provided drugs and had sex with women without their consent. She’s well aware of his cheating, but she doesn’t believe that her husband is a rapist, according to a source employed by the Cosby family.”
We’re not sure if it happened exactly like this, as the quote came from “a source employed by the Cosby family, but the Post tells this story: “I created him, I knew what I was getting and we’ll fix this,” (Camille) told the gathering at a meeting at the couple’s Shelburne Falls, Mass., home. They are making him out to be such a bad guy, a monster,” Camille said, according to the source.”
Then it was reported that Cosby is allowed to keep his star on Hollywood Boulevard. (Donald Trump gets to keep his too.) but he will still be able to hold on to his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Despite protests and petitions from people wanting Trumps’s star to be removed, The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce said “The answer is no. Once a star has been added to the Walk, it is considered a part of the historic fabric of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Because of this, we have never removed a star from the Walk.”
Meanwhile, film producer Judd Apatow commented on Twitter that, “I believe it is wise to be careful, but at some point we need to support the survivors of his violence.”
And in the latest story, Senator Kristen Gillibrand supported a petition to to revoke Bill Cosby’s Presidential Medal of Freedom, awarded to him in 2002 by President George Bush. The activist group PAVE (Promoting Awareness/Victim Empowerment) now has more than 5,000 signatures and asks The White House to revoke Cosby’s award.
The petitions starts “The award is bestowed on civilians for their contributions to society. Bill Cosby does not deserve to be on the list of distinguished recipients. Someone who admitted to using drugs for sex no longer deserves the nation’s highest honor.”
Comic Jimmy Walker called Cosby the “O.J. Simpson of comedy.”
