Lifestyle Condoms Launches “Smart Is Sexy” Campaign

I already knew that smart was sexy, (even though I admit to sleeping with a really stupid but gorgeous male model once.) Okay twice.

Ansell, makers of LifeStyles and SKYN Condoms, debuts their “Smart is Sexy,” advertising campaign that is “designed to challenge the way people define sexiness.” The hope is to “challenge perspectives and attitudes surrounding the signs of sexy.’

LifeStyles “Smart is Sexy” advertisements challenge these clichés with ads and videos that at first glance appear to support some outdated concepts surrounding sexiness. For instance one ad asks “What is sexy? Girls with big… ambitions.” Or “Because you love a guy with a big…reading list.”

“The inspiration for ‘Smart is Sexy’ came directly from our key demographic, the millennial consumer,” says the company. “In various focus groups, millennials explained to us that self-confidence and sexiness are directly linked, and young adults need to ‘smarten up’ by recognizing  that sexiness does not only come from superficial beauty, physical exposure or sexual performance, but from feeling self-confident and sexy about yourself.”

The smart = sexy campaign started with a fun public vending machine that asked people to answer five questions about sexual health to receive a free condom sample. The machine debuted as a pop-up in New York City’s Washington Square Park on November 18th before moving to NYC’s Webster Hall where it will will remain for a month before traveling to other city parks, nightclubs, bars, and colleges across the United States. Let’s just hope the smart = sexy campaign = smarter sexy sex!
